Our newest surf trip location is in Jamaica!  Jamaica offers 14 different parishes spanning some 4,244 square-miles. With such a large amount of space filled with things to do and see, there is always something to enjoy in Jamaica. To help you better prepare for your upcoming trip to the area, let’s look at what Jamaica is known for:

Reggae

Music plays a crucial role in the lives of Jamaicans. The roots of reggae music stem from colonialism and slavery by various nations. Reggae music is how many people in the country define themselves. It has had a huge impact on the cultural development in Jamaica. This form of music allows the Jamaicans to express their lifestyle and culture to the world using the power of music. They use it to celebrate life and their nationalism. Make sure to stop and listen to some of the top reggae artists in the area and enjoy learning about the culture through the power of music.

Festivals and Nightlife

Regardless of what time of year you are planning your trip to Jamaica, you are sure to find any number of festivals going on in the area. From the Misty Bliss Festival to the Jamaican Coffee Festival, Fi Wi Sinting Festival, Accompong Maroon Festival and countless others, you can enjoy a number of different festivals and exciting things to see and do. Food

Jerk is one of the most well known foods in Jamaica. It is a type of cooking that is native to the people and involves taking meat and dry rubbing it or wet marinating it with a Jamaican jerk spice that is extremely spicy. This particular seasoning is often applied to chicken or pork. This is one meal you must try on your surf trip in Jamaica!
