Last month, Real Surf Trips hosted the Lisa Andersen Surf Camp in conjunction with Jacksonville Surf Training. Eight girls stayed with us, six from Florida, 1 from Virginia Beach and one from Santa Cruz, California. Food was provided by Cafe Playa Negra, Tony Roberts videotaped and photographed every session and the girls watched the videos at night after cleaning out the local pulperia of candy and ice cream.
Lisa surfed with the girls and had individual time with each and the surf was great for the entire trip. Stretching and yoga was a part of the week’s program to prepare and heal from surfing.
The Lisa Andersen Surf Camp experience was the opportunity of a lifetime for these young ladies to challenge themselves and be supported in their future surf endeavors. They returned home as more responsible, cultured young woman who can surf better and understand they have to put the work in to reach their potential. Much thanks to Jacksonville Surf Training’s Tiffany Layton, best house mom ever and she can lay down some turns herself!
