Tony Roberts – Owner / Manager
Tony Roberts, AKA “TR”, has spent the last four decades exploring and photographing the world, and landed full time in Central America and the Caribbean over 20 years ago. As a staff photographer and film/video producer for Quiksilver, O’Neill, Surfing Magazine and TransWorldSurf among others, TR Surf Trips is a result of decades of inside learned experience, and knowledge of the waves, culture, and language of the region. When not setting up surf trips, guiding visitors or behind a camera lens, TR can be found in the water surfing, or taking care of his daughter, Xia.
Gustavo Santana Arietta – Surf Guide/Instructor
Being born and raised in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, Gustavo has always been close to the beaches of Guanacaste and really has a local knowledge of where to find the perfect spots. He is bilingual and as stoked a surfer as you will find!
He has a lifeguard certificate and is a certified surf instructor. Besides surfing he loves music. He plays in a band and teaches music to children here in Playa Negra.
